How marketing and business development add value and contribute to success in Asia-Pacific professional services organisations.
To provide relevant, up to date information to our members, APSMA has again partnered with Roundtable Consulting to perform leading industry research, the only one of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region.
The study was conducted to understand and articulate the core concept of ‘What is the value of marketing and business development within professional services firms?’
The APSMA membership study encompassed more than 1,400 individuals and 250 member firms representing law, accounting, engineering, consulting and recruiting across Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong. Still the only study of its kind, we attracted an enthusiastic response rate to the survey and participation at the highest executive level from firms who participated in the interviews.
All CEOs involved in this research believe marketing and business development contribute to the success of the organisation.
The contribution of marketing and business development is broad and multi-dimensional in the professional services organisation – from clients, to people, to culture.
The study found five key ‘value factors’ describing where marketing and business development make the biggest and most essential difference:
- Enhancing the ability to win work.
- Developing and marketing the brand.
- Driving culture change and alignemnet.
- Engaging the partnership through discipline, process and skills.
- Creating efficiency.
