When a significant PR or reputation crisis hits your organisation, learning on the job isn't an option. Knowing the skills and strategies to proactively steer your organisation through a crisis is crucial.
Dina Ross has more than 20 years' experience in media, marketing and public relations and will highlight important turning points in the anatomy of a crisis, examining areas to watch out for, analysing examples of good and bad crisis handling and putting forward suggestions for strategic crisis communications.
About the presenter:
Dina began her career as a journalist with the Sunday Times in London before moving to the BBC as a producer and scriptwriter. Subsequently, she joined international PR firm, Burson-Marsteller, in its London and New York offices and specialised in media relations, media training and crisis communications. After writing her first book Surviving the Media Jungle - a guide for PR practitioners, she started her own consultancy, Intervox, which worked with blue-chip companies such as Barclay's Bank, Cadbury Schweppes and Ciba Geigy. Dina was runner up in L'Oreal's Young Businesswoman of the Year Awards, winning her category of professional services.
Moving to Australia, Dina worked as a feature writer for The Age and as a freelance media trainer before entering legal marketing four years ago. Currently she oversees BD, internal and external communications at the Victorian Government Solicitor's Office.
